Lebertran is today's cod liver oil. It was forced down my throat many a tim=
e. A goggle moggle was good for a sore throat, but the melted butter swimmi=
ng atop the hot liquid nauseated me to the point where I hate butter to thi=
s very day.

I remember Lebertran which was a real nightmare (to-day's Omega 3, I think
but thicker and liquid) Once I spent hours under the piano while my mother
ran around the house with the bottle in her hand looking for me.
I don't remember any small red pills.
"Tierkohle" was for stomach trouble, taken mostly by adults.
Against a cough: There was a concoction called "Goggl Moggl", butter, eggs,
cacao, sugar, which tasted fine at first but couldn't be swallowed in large=
r
quantity, it was too rich. I don't even remember if it helped against the
cough!
