Dear Linda,
You now that from your first mail to the group I had a feeling that Esti,
your mother, probably met my cousin in Cyprus.
Now, thanks to the digitalization of "Davar" we discovered that your family
and my cousin were on the same ship.
I am happy that you will help us learn more through the first hand
testimonies of your talented grandmother and your dear mother. ( We know
both from the Vijenca -story)
Thank you so much.
I hoped this will be a collective project as only "our" Ehpes with the
precious help of Jerome can make it possible.
Dear Mimi and Cornel,
Thank you Mimi for volunteering to translate. I hope Cornel will contact
Michael Roll and his family and help complete the puzzle.
Lucca and Ann,
You see , the Eisenfelds and Fuhrmanns travelled as one family and tried to
contact the M.Schaerf family in Rishon le Zion. Do you know who they are?
I wrote 51 entries according to the different names , but, they were
grouped in 46 families.
We will continue to complete the "Viitorul'-file on Ehpes.
Thanks to All,
With best wishes
Irene

As Lucca mentions am a member of the list. Schoene Eisenfeld was my
grandmother and she wrote a fictionalized account of the shipwreck. I have
a copy of the book in Hebrew and I will scan it and send it to Mimi for
translation. I can also send it to be posted on the website if that is of
interest. On the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Viitorul my mother,
Evelyne (Esti) retold the story of those events.
We have a tape of her and my husband was working on transcribing it.
