For the sake of clarity, the cemetery is between Caliceanca and the
city proper. Going East from the city center, one reaches the cemetery
by going on the Russische Gasse (Ruska Ul.) and turning North on Zelena
street.
Continueing North on Zelena street one reaches Caliceanca.

About the suburbs of Czernowitz; each had its reputation. Rosch was
were the Germans lived, they were called Schwaben, even though few were
from that part
of Germany. They had a reputation for being skilled craftsmen.
Manasteriska, was were the poor Jews lived. Their children could work
their way up in the professions and become middle class Czernowitzers,
but their low background was never forgotten. Caliceanca/Kalichanka for
some reason was the but of jokes. Czecina - was for hiking, skiing and
picknicking.
Bila - was for more arduous skiing and hiking, at least until the
Antonescu regime decided it was a plce in which to murder Jews.
