Czernowitzers and art appreciaters...

I would like to announce that we've introduced two further artists to the Czernowitz Art Gallery

The first one is Octav Bancila, strictly speaking not from Bukovina, but from Botosani, which is however very close to Bukovina. His paintings are inspired by the meager life of the poor - workers, jews, peasants - their hardships and troubles, their struggle for existence. I succeeded to acquire in Bucharest a few years ago one of his famous paintings, named

THE EXPULSION OF THE JEWS

The second artist is Riccardo Righetti, born on 29.06.1895 in Czernowitz. I've chosen for the exhibition one of his watercolors, a city view of Czernowitz.

In addition you'll find now a link to the biography of our fellow member Dow Friedman, (as usual) perfectly designed by Peter Elbau.
