Hello Galina!
Sorry to say but, like Ruth, I do not see/understand what is so funny in this <revamped> song and I wonder about the <message> it carries. Could you please be more explicit? Is this new version popular in general in Ukraine? Or only among some Jewish circles? Or elsewhere?
I know a little bit about Ukraine's politicians and its general situation - including the present one. And I have a friend who is Ukrainian and half-Jewish (i.e. her father is); I could ask her, but she is right now on a business trip and I cannot reach her for a few days. I know that she met Yulia Timoshenko a few times and considered her a good choice. Also, I personnaly met Victor Yushchenko a few times when I was posted in Kiev in the late 90s (he was Governor of the Central Bank) and I also thought him to be a good choice at that time... Now, I know there were <problems> among them; and I also know what the present rule means...
Could you tell us more? If not to all of us, then maybe directly to some of us (Hardy, Ruth, myself, etc.)?
Regards,
Charles Rosner
