RE: [Cz-L] jobs and trades

Dear All!
According to information from 1908 (sent to me by Mr. Peter Elbau), My
grandfather Moritz Straucher was a "Dampfsägeunternehmer" which means
steam-propelled saw-mill enterpriser. My G.G. Uncle Benno Straucher was a
"Advokat und Reichsratsabgeordneter" Lawyer and Austrian parliament member
during the years 1907-1918. If any list member knows trades of additional
members of the Straucher family in Chernowitz I will be very grateful for
letting me know.

My grandfather Mendel Stenzler was known as a blacksmith. He passed away in
1923.
My grandmother Sally Schachner gave lodging and food to students from nearby

towns who studied in Czernowitz. She also made lace for tablecloths,
curtains, bedding and elegant dresses. She passed away while marching to
Transnistria, near the Dniester river.
