Re: [Cz-L] Czernowitz microfilms at FamilySearch

Hi Daniel,

We're aware for quite a while about the availability of vital records
for Jewish Czernowitz prior to 1933. See:

In fact, some records are available for other Bukovina locations as
well (again, check the link above). But I wasn't aware of the
availability of voter and member lists.

As far as I know, none of these microfilm records have been indexed
(but there are indices of various records appearing in the FHL
microfilms). I may be wrong, but I think the Chernivtsi State
Archive asked that there be no public index made available. Does
anyone else remember if that's the case? It's not indicated in the
catalog listing.
