[Cz-L] Czernowitz WW2 documents.

I made another mistake, my family's WW2 documents are still on the Ehpes
website. If you access the website, go to:
Documents, Lists, Stories and Histories from list members .
If you cannot find this section, look for "Stories and Histories".
 
You will find under item #1 "WW2 Documents and translations from Miriam
Taylor", a number of documents.

Some of the translations are inaccurate or incomplete and I would be
grateful if those among you who know Romanian well, would check what I have
written and offer corrections.

The explanation for document #6, is definitely wrong, but I do not know what
the correct explanation would be. In the meantime Shula Klinger found her
grandfather's name on the list of names on this document and as he is listed
as living at the same address as in the 1937 address book, it means one of
two things; this address was within the ghetto area, or his home had not
been taken over by Romanians while he was in the ghetto.

What can be learned from these documents, is that Popovici authorizations
were issued on Nov. 27th 1941, although I do not know whether these were the
initial 15600 authorization or the 4000 which were issued later.

Also that the authorization to stay in Czernowitz did not entitle one to
work and that an authorization to work had to be sought separately.
