I am not surprised. Their attitude is well known. The Romanian government
apparently suspects that those people who will regain their citizenship will
misuse it. Their general paranoidic approach dates back to the Ceausescu
era and perhaps even earlier.

I have been in touch with the Romanian Embassy in Washington. There is
nothing
they can do. Personally, I believe that they are not interested in giving us

citizenship.
