I was looking at maps and street names on the updated website and two
things caught my eye. One map has a listing for a Palace of Weddings
(former
House of Rosenzweig) and I also found a listing for a Rosenzweiggasse
(Pictorul Grigorescu during the Romanian period and Saltikova Shchedrina
during
the Russian and Ukranian periods) I am wondering about the origins of the
name of this street and place as my family name is Rosenzweig. I had
Rosenzweig relatives living in Czernowitz and Sadagora in the 19th and
20th
centuries. My grandfather, Wilhelm Rosenzweig came to the United States
in
1897 followed in 1901 by his wife and son Fani and David. Wilhelm left
behind
his brother and brother's wife, Hermann and Lotti Rosenzweig.
Can anyone tell me anything about the House of Rosenzweig or
Rosenzweiggasse?
Thank you,
William D. Rosenzweig
