What is in a name?

We Start at Titu Maiorescu
Go to Episcopul Herescu,
Pass the General Mircescu,
Not the one called Averescu.

>From old Tudor Vladimirescu,
To Minister Tache Ionescu,
>From the Pictor Grigorescu,
Up to Ciprian Porumbescu.
And don't forget that Niculae,
Him we called by name Balcescu.

>From Stefan cel Mare, in translation the Great
To Radu cel Mare, gesunterheit.

>From Mikulicz to Popovici,
>From Teliman to one Hacman,
We also had a Philipowicz,
One Aurelian and one Wolan.

But Gartengasse, Gregorgasse,
Rosengasse, Sbieragasse,
Weinbergstrasse, Gruenegasse,
Winzergasse, Breitegasse,
Splenygasse, Atlasgasse,
Fichtengasse, Friedensgasse,
Blumengasse, Traubengasse,

And all the other names we knew....
They were not better than the new.
