Hardy...thanks for this! It was one of the first songs I learned and this
brought back memories. What is interesting in the attached video is that the
charging cavalry ,by their helmet decorations, is a unit of the very famous
Polish" Winged Husars". Cornel

  Prin Eugen was a big hero in the Habsburg Empire.
   He fought and drove the Turks out.
    He captured Belgrad in 1717 by clever strategies.
      The Czernowitz infantry regiment was in his name.
     We used to sing parodic songs to the tune of this march.
      But he was a big hero not forgotten after generations.
       "Prinz Eugen der edle Ritter...."
