That is very interesting. As you might remember, the Director of the
Archives in Czernowtiz tried to extort $7000 from me for my grandfather's
records. Vadim Altscan from the National Holocaust Museum he made him
realize that would never happen. He also used his leverage to make the man
realize that by moral standards he should give us what we want. Zoya was
part of our "James Bond" exchange of information that in the end cost $250.
which was $200 more than it should have cost. Technically we are all
entitled to these records by the new Ukranian laws. All of this was for my
grandfather's records that were formaly NKGB now in the SBU records of
Czernowitz. I know that the Director of the US Holocaust Museum was
brokering a deal as well for acquiring the records in Kiev and the Oblast i=
n
Czernowitz. I wonder if this is all part of the same deal. I will forward
to Vadim who must have some answers.
