[Cz-L] A new book on Cz and the bad years

P.S. All the misinformation distributed by the overly-imaginative Romanian
journalists on my planned film has brought about some good in the form of a
query from one of the major Hollywood studios plus new contacts from survivors
who got permits from Popovici.

One of these, Julius Scherzer, is a retired scientist now living in Anaheim,
California. He sent me a copy of his biography which covers the years we are all
familiar with before the war. Then it covers his family's experience during the
war. His father had been a lawyer and had previous contact with Popovici, so
they got permits by both Popovici and Calutescu. At one point they moved to
Suceava. Dr. Scherzer later moved to Bucharest where he studied science at
university and lectured. They didn't get out to America until the mid-late
1960s and their experiences provide a perspective I hadn't had before.

The book was published in 2006 and is titled "While the Gods Were Silent."
(Growing Up Under Fascists & Communists) You'll find it on Amazon. He writes
well and you go through an emotional roller coaster as you read it. These
accounts always make me want to dig up graves of fascists and kill them all over
again.
