Rob...

First of all, welcome to the group! From genealogical point of view, please check at

1. http://www.geni.com/ for Rachel Brecher (Greif), the first spouse of my father Julius Hauster,
2. http://czernowitzdaily.blogspot.com/p/dead-gone-1933.html the obituaries for Dr. Josef Allerhand (05., 07., 10.03.1933)

>From historical point of view, the Ohrenstein and Krämer family are most interesting. Editing the Czernowitz newspaper "Der Tag", online available at

http://czernowitzdaily.blogspot.com/

and using the search engine at the Transcriptions & Archives section for "Der Tag" at

http://dertag.forenworld.com/index.php

you'll be able to identify the following articles of "Der Tag" for the years 1932/1933:

Ohrenstein: 7 entries
Krämer: 23 entries
Greif: 13 entries
Landau: 22 entries
Allerhand: 17 entries

Let's have a closer look now to your great-grandfather Dr. Josef Ohrenstein. As director of the Jewish Hospital and president of the B'nai Brith Lodge, he participated in many official meetings, as we learn from "Der Tag", but the article dated 31.03.1933 under the headline "Donations in Favour of the Jewish Hospital in Czernowitz" looks very interesting to me, as both families, Ohrenstein AND Krämer are mentioned:

"On the occasion of the High Holy Days, Moritz Krämer, the Director of Steaua Romana [Romanian Star], contributed with a donation of 25,000 Lei to the acquisition of linen for the Jewish Hospital..."

Enjoy the walk down history/memory lane!
