During the period 1937 till June 29, 1940, Jews in Czernowitz did NOT
have
to wear a yellow star of David.
The Jews of Czernowitz were ordered to wear the yellow star of David,
sometime during the period from July 1941 till October 11, 1941.
The penalties for non wearing of the yellow star, or inciting others
to not
wear it, ranged from terms in concentration camps to execution.

Generally, in Romania, the wearing of the yellow star was ordered
at different times in different regions and was not enforced at all
in some.
