Holocaust Day in Israel.
This year the Bukovina- Transnistria -Rumania element is focused in the
memorial day ceremonies.
After many years of neglect things are put right.
We had Andrei Calarasu light a torch.
Famous stage director who was on the Iasi death train.
Many more films and personal stories.
Joseph Schmidt got an hour on the radio (Irene Fischler's reminder).
Things are put right after a long time.
Here the question of identity is unquestionable.
We belong to the Rumanian Holocaust.
Not because of the identity of the victims but by that of the
perpetrators.
I write this while on the radio Schmidt sings "Die weisse Taube"
La Paloma in German.
