"Czernowitz is gewen an alte, jidische Schtot..."
The name of the book is in Yiddish, even though written in German =20
letters.
The translation is: Czernowitz was an old Jewish town.
Apparently there is an edition which is both in German and in =20
Ukrainian, or Russian.
Clearly the editors thought that there would be sufficient interest =20
from Ukrainian or Russian readers.
Does anyone know whether the "Heinrich-Boll-Stiftung, Berlin" is =20
still interested in Jewish subjects,
or whether they are currently interested only in "green" subjects?
