I spoke only German at home, with my parents, my aunts, my uncles, my
grandparents.
My parents never learned Rumanian, and I often had to help my father by
translating whenever he had a patient who knew only Rumanian.
It's strange that whatever we learn when we are very young, sticks forever.
My own Rumanian is still perfect, speech, orthography, syntax, etc...
Dutch and Spanish which I learned at a much later age, are slowly fading,
and there is nothing I can do about it.
