Mark, you made me hungry with your comments on Mamaliga. =A0I haven't even =
finished reading today's collection of messages but I'm going to make some =
mamaliga for breakfast. =A0I have schmetten in the fridge but no brinza and=
 I used to love brinza with mamaliga. =A0I recall a peasant sitting on a cu=
rb of the sidewalk in Cz. =A0He reached into his traista and pulled out a h=
unk of cold mamaliga and a big onion and then took alternate bites out of e=
ach. =A0I recall thinking how nice it would be to be a Romanian peasant to =
be allowed to sit on the sidewalk and eat with such gusto.
By the way, Mimi, don't make wild assumptions and statements such as EVERYB=
ODY spoke this or NOBODY learned this. =A0We had German lessons daily at Sc=
oala Elite. =A0I can't recall if we had it in lyceum. =A0And I had never he=
ard anyone speak Ruthenian. =A0In fact I had never heard of Ruthenians. =A0=
The first Ukrainians I ever met were in Canada. =A0Lipovener I had seen and=
 recall because they looked so outrageously dirty. =A0I was reminded of the=
m in the 1960s when the Hippies first began to surface. =A0And Hardy, you c=
an't blame the language for Hitler. =A0German was the leading culture in Eu=
rope before Hitler. The top book publishers and map makers were German. =A0=
The Hitler takeover of Germany, which was as much a disaster to them as to =
us, shows that it could happen anywhere which is a very depressing thought.=
