[Cz-L] REITMAN / SCHMETTERLING, Czernowitz

REITMAN / SCHMETTERLING - Austria / Washington DC
A couple of years back, I heard rumor of a sibling of a great-grandfather
that stayed behind in Austria when the rest of the family came to the USA.
Her name is Amalie Reitman who has married a Schmetterling (first name
unknown).
They were living in Czernowitz, Austria and may have moved to Vienna
in the 1930s or 1940s. I have been able to verify part of this this through
records here in the USA. The story goes that she was a cosmetician and
they did not survive holocaust. However, her son Jules somehow came to
the USA and was a very successful beauty shop ownwer in Washigton DC and
had many DC notables as his personal customers. Some relatives last had
contact with him about 1956.

I have not been able to find information on the Schmetterlings in Austria
or in the Washington DC area. Any suggestions?
