Dear all,
I am sorry to hear about the mysterious disappearance of the exhibition in the Metro at Universitatii.
If I may venture an opinion - the place has indeed a fantastic exposure. But it is also one of the most promiscuous places you can find in Bucharest. In spite of guards - armed or not. And apart from this, "average" people who pass are usually in a hurry - those who have the time to linger probably don't care about the posters, unless they can be taken down and perhaps sold somewhere else for an extra dime. Bucharest is a jungle ...
The question is - what sort of public do you want to reach? this is an important criterion when it comes to selecting the "where" of any exhibition, I think.
I have tried to think of useful contacts in Bucharest but the only one that comes to mind is Maia Morgenstern, the actress. Perhaps she would be willing to help find a suitable place and support for an exhibition like this. Even though I do not know her personally, I could try to find out how best to contact her - if you would like me to. Other than that, perhaps the ICR - Institutul Cultural Roman - might be a candidate? And there is one particular place in Bucharest which is both beautiful and interested in cultural events - it is the Carturesti bookshop in Str. Artur Verona. Perhaps it would be worth trying to get in touch with them as well?
Unfortunately, it appears that the Jewish Community in Bucharest is not interested in cooperating with "outsiders" - at least as far as can be judged by the was they deal with people from the ROM-SIG group on Jewishgen. A pity, really. Perhaps worth a try, but I would not expect much of them.
Kind regards,
Dana
