Czernowitzers...

Thanks to Berti and Irene, we got additional data on the interdiction of the Maccabiah Games 1933 in Czernowitz, so I released on this subject a post at our Ehpes.com Blog:

http://ehpes.com/blog1/2011/07/24/maccabiah-games-1933-in-czernowitz-banned/

displaying:

- the badge, which belonged to J Vandenburg who represented Britain at a Maccabi tournament in Prague [instead of Czernowitz!], 1933; he came second in the 200m;

- two articles from Palestine Post, dated 26.07.1933 and 09.08.1933, brought to you by Irene Fishler;

- a brilliant analysis of the political situation in Czernowitz and Romania in summer 1933, brought to you by Berti Glaubach.

Enjoy the posting and have a great week (unfortunately without "Der Tag", censored by the Romanian Government)!
