Sorry but I didn't mean to be deceiving in the use of commas in my post.

Please remember that the book is about Romanian Jews in America and
Canada. You say that Avigdor Arikha was omitted but he was neither from
the U.S. or Canada. I suggested to the author that Marianne Hirsch should
be included - perhaps she did not agree? (Can you comment Marianne?)
Perhaps others on the list opted out of inclusion as well.

I do like your summary - "let's be content to be Czernowitzers or
Bukowiner." (I'll ignore my Polish/Russian roots on my mother's side for
now, and just say I'm proud to be a Bukoviner!)
