Regarding the abandoned tank, Hans Noe, our doctor's son and my schoolmate at Scoala Elite, told me about this. Hans came to New York in the early 1950s. I could never get the story of his war time experiences. Whenever I asked, he would change the subject. I guess he couldn't talk about that period. The only thing he seemed to remember or was willing to talk about were abandoned tanks, cars, trucks, motor bikes. He said the Germans were retreating with the Russians on their heels and when they ran out of gas, they would just leave their vehicles and continue running on foot. He made it sound as if Cz became filled with abandoned war machines.
