Thank you Abraham for the information.

It may interest some of the members of this list to know what was
being taught
in this school, to second year high school students in 1921. In
Romania, high school started at age 10, so this is what 12 year old
pupils were taught:

Religion
Latin
Romanian
German (as language of instruction)
Hebrew
Geography
History
Mathematics
Natural Sciences
Free-hand drawing

During the school year 1920-1921, the principal of the school was Dr.
E. Siggal,
my father's home-room teacher ( Dirigentele classei, Klassenvorstand)
was Dr. Theodore Kern.

Consider: Currently, are there any schools in which 12 year olds are
taught four (4) languages? And where both the home room teacher and
the principal have
a Ph.D. degree?

Mimi
