[Cz-L] Two years later.

Two years later:
It is summer 1948 in the encircled Negev.
  I am a soldier in the Battalion No 7 of the Negev Brigade of the Palmach.
  I am not yet 16 years of age.
   In order to be drawn into the Palmach I faked my age making it 17.
    This I did in the Cyprus deportation camp where the British
     put us in after intercepting our ship.
       In March the Palmach smuggled us out as Aliat Hanoar -
   Children Quota for early transfer to Palestine.
      For qualifying this I had to fake my age again making me
    one year younger i.e. 16 which was my real age.
      It is June after the first ceasefire , the Egyptians have attacked
    the Kibbutz Beerot Yitzhak but were stopped by our atillery ,
     a battery of vintage cannon from old times , we called Napoleonchikis.
       Battallion 7 sent reinforcements including the Cypriot platoon - that
was us.
      The way to the kibbutz was under heavy artillery barrages.
        Finally we made it.
          Czernowitz was not on my mind ,as you see.
