If you read the article by Alexander Dallin about Gheorghe Alexianu,
you will learn how ordinary Romanians, even well educated and well
meaning,
mostly did nothing to fight the Anti-Semitic measures of Antonescu,
actually took advantage of them in order to enrich themselves.
Greed was probably a greater motive than hate.
