Yes, the local airport has been reconstructed and is ready to take large aircrafts, but till springtime nothing would be changed as Football World Championship events would take place in June, 2012 in four main Ukrainian cities (L'viv with already enlarged and renovated a/p, then Kharkiv, Donetsk and Kyiv also with large airports). I've contacted the operator of the CARPATAIR Airlines Co. to find out about their plans as to the changes in their itinenaries. They are not going to change any as via Timisoara is the most popular one. Anyway, there might be direct flights, but not for now...
