Hi Mimi, Your statement is just what we need in our discussion group. I can
put my right hand over fire, that none Leu arrived in the pocket of
Dr.Popovici, those who delivered the permission took the bribe...As in 1941,
when all the jews, men, women, children, from our street, Str.Miron Costin
(Maria-Theresiengasse)were taken to the "jandarmerie" in the
Siebenbuergerstrasse, I asked the soldier who took us from our appartment,
if we need an identity-document, he answered "For to be shut you don't need
document....and after the release of 300 women at 3 oclock in the morning,
the men were arresed , conducted to the police station, than to an empty
elder home for 3 days without food or water...I went to the major Frunza, to
complain, because all the women were taken one by one, must take off the
clothes and were controled for arms...(where can hide a nacked women arms
and where are hiding old women rings?) he answered.."What do you want. war
is war"'
So every person, who lived in the years 1940/1945 has hi/hers experiences,
most of them more than one...
Happy New Year 2012, to all members of the list, and for our masters Bruce,
Jerome and Edgar many thanks and many new stories
Hedwig
