Dear Shula:
 
    Your outstanding documentary painted a Czernowitz
that brought back my grandparents Gussie and Marcus
Steinhauser, who immigrated from there in 1910 to New
York with four young children, including my dad Charles.
    
    Thank you, Shula for a poignant feature depicting a city
ruled by four different countries during the past century
and its good and tragic times.

Dear all,

My short documentary aired on CBC radio yesterday.

It wasn't quite the angle I had planned, as the theme of the show is =
"personal stories," rather than "Czernowitz history." But I think it =
came out well. I was really delighted when our son, Benjamin (4), =
exclaimed, "That's Romania!" on hearing the song on the radio. I am =
deeply grateful to you all.=20

A side note: You will hear some familiar names and voices, but I wasn't =
able to include all of the material I gathered for this project, and a =
few cuts were made to keep the show within the time limits. But I'm far =
from done! Trust me... there will be more....
