Dear Jerome
I hope you already know how much I appreciate your work, and how thankful I
am for it. Traian Popovici was an important figure in the history of the
Bukowinian Jews. His actions to save Jews of Czernowitz affected even my own
personal life (although with partial success). He rightly deserves all the
honors bestowed to his memory. Nevertheless the story of Transnistria is too
important and on a much larger historical scale than to be rated as a
paragraph of Popovici's story.
