Hi Jerome,
Thanks a lot to you and Gary.Rinzler for the link to the obituary of Robert
Blum...This article put me back to my youth...once upon the time..
Robert was the youngest brother of Richard Blum, the best friend of my late
husband...Richard is also on the group photo, at the bac, in 1930, I sent
to Ehpes.. Richard studied mathematics in Prague, married Martha Gutmann,.
When we met in Bucarest, Richard told us how my husband saved his life,
hiding him in the Sugar factory, in 1941, when he was called to go to the
soviet army...in every life are so many histories....Richard and Martha
lived some years after WW2 in Bucarest and went to Canada,1951.. He became
University Prof. at Suskatchewan, Martha wrote some books about the life in
Czernowitz, she sent me one.."The Walnut tree", I am just looking at it,on
the cover is the picture of the Residenzgasse, with the house where Martha
lived in her youth, I went often there, because my friend Elfi Herschmann,
the cousin of Florence lived there, also related to Martha....Richard had an
other. elder brother, I forgot his name and a sister, maried to DR.Otto
Seidmann, who wrote the famous humoristic book "Die Peschl" and, as I
remember a twin-brother...
I think, that Marianne knows more about them...
Regards
Hedwig
