I was not aware the obituaries of Erwin Taussig could be found.

I also know that Erwin Taussig, prior to his illness, had the misfortune
to be involved in a business transaction where a huge amount of money
was lost, possibly due to his unscrupulous business partners. This
destroyed him and he was bailed out, so to speak, by his brother in law,
the rich landowner, who paid his debts. Thereafter he fell ill and never
recovered.

He was also a first generation Czernowitzer, being originally from
Prague.
