Hi Cornel and everyone,
Merle and Rosanne are correct regarding the official response to mail
requests. However, though you might not have success writing directly to
archive branches, there are some occasions when responses are received, so
it's worth an email or postage stamp to at least give it a try - best in
the Romanian language. Another option - hire a researcher in Romania.
I've had excellent success using this option, though the price can be
high. Check in advance regarding price, and regarding the reputation and
reliability of any individual you may hire. Check also about how payments
are to be sent to Romania.
