Not so.
I only counted the descendants in each generation,
I did not add the number in one generation to the number in another.
Consider:
David has two 2 children, four 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren,
16 descendants in the next generation, 32 in the next and 64 in the
next,
and 128 in the following.
If I were to count all his descendants at this point, I would have:
2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + 64 + 128 = 254

I also put the length of one generation at 30 years.
Generally it is considered 25 years.
I put the birth rate at 2, it definitely was much higher, but I
lowered it
to account for descendants who died before they had children.

"Meinetwegen" (as far as I am concerned), you can put the birth rate
at 1,5
and you will still get a huge number of descendants of king David,
or anyone else, after 25 generations. The only factor which would reduce
this number, would be the valid consideration that very likely, there
was
intermarriage among king David's descendants.
