  Early in the war Mussolini sent troops to assist the Germans in Russia.
  At some stage they were garrisoned in Czernowitz.
   Cant tell you exactly when.
    Mandolin music and Santa Lucia was heard on the streets.
      Stray cats miraculously started disappearing.
       Mandolin lessons could be had for a soup.

           Then one day they were gone..
