The bells of Sv. Paraskiva chime in the Saturday of October 11 ,1941.
The end of an era.
Jewish Czernowitz is closing the show.
 It would take a little longer for the liquidation but this was the
watershed.
 Czernowitz gets rid of its Jews.
   Like a dog losing its fleas.
  A long awaited moment by our neighbors.
   Did they know ?
    Did we know ?
     We were too busy pushing that cart down to the muddy Morariogasse.
       This was the end.
         But also a new beginning.
