Serhiy was instrumental in locating the destroyed cemetery from my
wife's family in Mostyska, Rudnyki and establishing a memorial monument
there last year. He is extremely reliable, resourceful, sincere, and
trustworthy.

Subject: [Cz-L] Invitation to View and Visit the Jewish Cemetery of
Vashkivtsi
Serhiy Bilichenko traveled from Lviv to Vashkivtsi this week to inspect
the Spring cleanup done for us by Ivan, a man who lives immediately
adjacent to the entrance to the Jewish cemetery there.
At the link below you can view several photos that he took, to which
I've added descriptions and some background on our family project to
restore and maintain the major surviving landmark of a once vibrant
Jewish town where our fathers were born and our grandmother is buried.

Over the past 18 months we have been able to assist several descendants
of Vashkivtsi families to identify from our catalog and photos their
ancestors who are interred there.
Should you be traveling through the Bukovina this summer we invite you
to stop and visit the cemetery, which is about halfway between
Czernowitz and Wiznitz.
And if you run into Ivan please thank him for his work to preserve and
efforts to protect this sacred place.
We encourage anyone interested in a similar restoration in the Bukovina
or Galicia to contact Serhiy Bilichenko, our, guide, driver, interpreter
and fixer, who was the key member of our team in organizing clearing of
the cemetery in October 2010.
