Andy,
You speak of Czernowitzers as of a group of people all with the same
characteristics.
By you all had good taste , where noble in their behavior,
 lovers of poetry , never talking about money .
  You depict imaginary idols.
    Not real people.
      To know what they would have said about a car that's too long ?
         How am I to know ?

I disagree, Hardy - I'm looking for that word in German that mother would
have used about something in bad taste. "unanständig?" Not that, but
something like that. Czernowitzers were quite conservative and would give
you looks of quiet disapproval if you were out of step or acted in bizarre
ways. Flaunting wealth was in bad taste, even talking about money was
considered gauche. A stretched-out car that looks like it needs an extra set
of wheels in the middle to keep from letting its belly drag on the ground
would have been considered freakish, improper, foolish, nicht ...etwas....
