[Post in plain text please]

I have also visited this cemetery. My grandfather was Rav of the town from 1=
923-1941.
The "old synagogue" or =D7=93=D7=A2=D7=A8 =D7=90=D7=9C=D7=98=D7=A2=D7=A8 =D7=
=A9=D7=95=D7=9C=D7=B4
is indeed full of old books and tefilin and just shelves full of old religio=
us artifacts. There is an elderly local woman who watches over the synagogue=
s and most of the time does not allow visitors access. When I first visited i=
n 2006 she called the police...=20
Once they arrived they realized that I simply wanted to see my Zeide's shul e=
tc. so they allowed me access.=20
It would be great if we can get a project off the ground to clean up many ce=
meteries in Southern Bukovina. As mentioned I run a small non profit that sp=
ecializes in this and I have a team on be ground in the Ukraine which can be=
gin work within weeks. If we pool our resources then we can get a good price=
from the workers who will travel once and work on as many cemeteries needed=
for as long as it takes.
If anyone has any interest please let me know. It generally costs several th=
ousand dollars to clean up a cemetery and it is also very possible to arrang=
e periodical maintenance as well at reasonable prices and get picture update=
s several times a year.
