About the fate of Jewish refugees from Poland:
I got my information from Radu Ioanid's book "The Holocaust in Romania".
There is no single chapter devoted to the fate of Jewish refugees from
Poland=20
who found their way to Czernowitz, but there are scattered references
about their fate;=20
when describing the deportation of the people rounded up on June 7, 1942,
it states:

".. and deported in sealed cars to Transnistria, among them former Polish
citizens=20
who should have been protected by Chilean passports, .."

About the deportations of March 1943:

" another group of Polish Jews holding Chilean passports had crossed the
border..
..In Cernauti they were handed over to the Gestapo..."

and:

"Polish refugees who fell into the hands of Security Inspector Mihai Paun
were not handed over to the Gestapo"...

 " On August 28 1943 General Dragalina, governor of Bukovina,
ordered the expulsion to Poland of 139 Jewish families holding Chilean
passports,
 but their ultimate fate is not clear=B2
