We left Czernowitz when:
1. Radios were a novelty and not for all.
2 Air travel was an extravaganza.
3. A wrist watch you got at the Bar mizwa (if at all).
4. Music you listened from a gramophone (if you had one ).
5. You explored the world by reading Jules Verne and Karl May.
6. Powidl you brew in the backyard.
7. Rumanian you spoke poorly.
8. Russian even worse.
9. Your Yiddish was excellent.
