Hi Abraham,
In Czernowitz, in my youth were 2 family Liquornik1
1.Arthur Liquornik, ingeneer, who married, I don’t know when, my classmate
Rosa Hellenberg.I meet her after the war in T.A, at our anniversery of 60
years after the bac. we did a group foto, I scanned it for the album of
Merle. She told me that her sister
was married to the owner of the Astoria-Café and of the bath at Pruth,
Venetia or Mamaia, I do not remember, her brother in law was not
Jewish...they had a daughter, who lives in Bucarest.
2. the other Liquornik: 2 brothers, Max was the younger, in my age, both
phisicians, I meet Max and his wife by a Czernowiter meeting in a café at
T.A., organized by my brother in law Heinz Brenner..there came also Julek
Fraenkel with his wife from Paris...it
was in the begiings or 1990...
That is what I know, and what I remember...
3.The Café Europe was not corner Herrengasse,dr. Reisgass, but
Dr.Rothgasse, Dr,Reisgasse was the paralell-street to Herrengasse...and
the owner, when I lived opposite the Café Europa 1918 to 1931, the owner
was Salo Stern.,his daughter Anni, married
to Trichter who owner of the Trichter-Muehle at the Pruth Valley, was a
friend of my mother.
Best regards
Hedwig

Subject: Rosa Hellenberg-Liquornik und Sorodoc

Dear Mrs. Brenner,
Your reference to Rosa Hellenberg-Liquornik und Sorodoc :

1. The name Şorodoc reminds me of the owner of Café Europe on Herrengasse
Ecke Dr. Reiss Gasse. Is there any connection ? Am I right ?
2. I have several friends whose ancestors were Liquornik. Could you
please elaborate on the “Liquornik Tribe” ? names, professions, where
did they live in Czernowitz, etc. ?

Thanks and best wishes,

Abraham Kogan
