I have only recently discovered this wonderful site and have joined the =
discussion. I lived in Chernovitz till 1974 and I've been to many places =
and continents since then.
 There was always a certain poetic magic in Chernovitz but you need to =
wear the right glasses...=20
According to my grandmother, Frida Kraft (nee Segal), Chernovitz between =
the WWI and WWII was a very special place, both in terms of architecture =
but more so in terms of its culture and it's creative energy.
I have visited Chernovitz in 2006 for my school reunion. Indeed, it was =
not the same energy but the magic is still there.
For some reason, most of the photos posted are taken in the worst places =
imaginable. If you, like me, lived there, you know where to look for =
that famous Chernovitzer charm.
As for the next generations, I am sure, as they approach their middle =
age, they will start exploring what is that special town their parents =
were raving so much about.
