But the other operators who run the place
seem to have overcome
 that fear and their sleep is not affected,

The dome or actually the "armatura" was there for a very long time after
WWII. The whole building was nothing but leftover walls. When they decided
to renovate it in the 60ths, they first tried to blast the dome
construction. We all have to paste paper on the windows. The explosives
worked on the windows, but the dome was still there.
They decided to remove it by welding, but most of the local welders were
afraid to touch it out of fear of G-d.
In the end my father's cousin and his partner did it.
The building then belonged to the city. I am sure that there are still
public properties.
