In Czernowitz old city
Where the girls are so witty
I first set my eyes on sweet Gusti Malosh
 As she pushed her wheel barrow
Through the Judengass narrow.
Crying "Schmattes mit Lattes as good as if new".

As good as if new ,

Crying "Schmattes mit Lattes as good as if new"

Then she was deported
Or so they reported
And this was the end of sweet Gusti Malosh.

  But on days that ain't Schabbes,
 You can hear the old Shkrabes
  Crying :" Schmattes mit Lattes as good as if new."
