Abraham, et. al.,
A related question: In the Habsburg system, "Realschulen" were different
from "Gymnasien" by the fact that they emphasized mathematics, science, and
foreign languages, but did not offer Latin and Greek, subjects required for
university admission and many high status careers. "Realschule" graduates
could thus attend the Technical Hochschule, the technical or engineering
university. Was this similar in the Romanian system before Jews were
barred or altogether excluded from universities? Was there a difference
between a "Liceul Real" and a "Gymnaziul/Liceul" as to the kind of higher
university admission one could pursue?
