I am not sure, but I think that "Soniu" or "Zuniu" comes from the
German word "Sohn",
which in Yiddish became "Zeen". Another possibility is that it comes
from the German "Sonne",
meaning sun. One of my parents' friend called her son " Meine Sonne"
meaning my sun.
