Dear Mimi,

the Groisse Shil is in the former Synagogengasse in the lower part of the city, not very far from the train station and the Turkish fountain. Together with the old Jewish cemetery, the Jewish hospital and more synagogues around this was the heart of the old Jewish quarter.

P.S.: Isn't it funny that I, a non-Czernowitzer can explain the locations to you, a real Czernowitzer?
